On-Grid Solar System
On-gird solar systems are connected directly to the grid and the electricity is transmitted to the grid in solar power plants. This system does not require batteries and is used with common inverters. Generally, the electricity produced in private establishments is exported to the main grid and credits are taken according to the amount of electricity exported in the period.
A battery may be added to the system in order to prevent the electricity generated by the mains from failing to cause damage to the operators or to shut down the system.
Unlike hybrid systems, network-based solar systems cannot work or generate electricity during a dimming for safety reasons. A power outage usually occurs when the power supply is damaged; if the solar inverter is still supplying power to a damaged network, it will endanger the safety of persons making network failures/repairs. Most hybrid solar systems with battery storage can be automatically isolated from the grid and continue to provide some power during the dimming.
